The Shanghai World Expo 2010 takes place from 1 May to 31 October 2010. The theme of Expo 2010 is "Better City, Better Life", with participants from over 190 countries displaying and engaging with ideas of urban development and culture.

The Australian pavilion, designed by renowned Melbourne architecture firm Wood Marsh, evokes Australia's ancient landscape. Hosting an array of exhibitions, the Australian pavilion offers a program of diverse cultural experiences. The welcoming Australian kookaburra mascot is named "Peng Peng" in Mandarin, which translates as "friendship".

Issue Highlights
A stamp and coin cover accompanies this issue, featuring a Perth Mint $1 coin with an image of a Tiger, designed by Wade Robinson from the Perth Mint. The envelope features the Australian kookaburra mascot "Peng Peng".
