About 120 Australians spend a full year at one of the four ANARE stations. They are isolated from the world for up to eight months, until the the supply ships arrive at the stations. Each station has its own unique pictorial postmark. The first day of issue for each station is the date the supply ship arrives at the station.
All ships arrived safely at the respective stations.

The block of 4 base covers for each station contains a block of 4 of the 55c stamps and a block of 4 of the $1.10 stamps.
