The following is a commemorative postmark to celebrate the 150 years service to the community by the Ballaarat Mechanics' Institute. The postmark will be available from the Ballarat Post 3350 from Monday the 27th July 2009 for six weeks. The 26th of July (1859) is when the Institute library first opened. The 150 year celebration is 1859 -2009. The legal entity spelling of name uses the 4 a's "Ballaarat".
